Still Don’t Think Graphics are Important?

I’m sure you’ve heard the famous saying, “A picture is worth a thousands words” and we couldn’t find that to be more true. When it comes to capturing your audiences attention you want to take full advantage of that by delivering your message the right way and the best way possible. So, how do you do that? Show them by creating good graphics and don’t just tell them.

Whether you’re reading a magazine, a blog post, or someones website – the first thing to spark your interest is more than likely the visual content they use and not so much the text. Our brains process visuals faster and we retain much more information when it’s delivered visually. Communicating doesn’t do any good if your audience isn’t retaining the information. If you’re given a bunch of text to read, it’s easy for all that information to get lost or ignored. Incorporating visual content, you’re audience is able to digest the information a lot easier and it’s something they can absorb and remember.

Creating good graphics is not only useful for grabbing your audiences attention but it can also tell your story in a more simple way. People like simple. It’s easy to ‘like’, share and respond to graphic content on social media which means a bigger audience.

So the next time you’re about to make a post, think about those 3 key words – grab, digest, and remember. Ask yourself if it’s going to grab your audiences attention, are they going to be able to digest the information and most importantly are they going to remember it.
